{Guest Post} Back to School Hair Styles

Hello Everyone…I am so excited to introduce today’s guest…my daughter Christine.  She does not have a blog but so graciously agreed to do this guest post today!

{Back To School Hair Styles}

Since it is back to school for me…oh joy…I went back-to-school shopping with my mom and younger siblings. We stopped at Walmart to get school supplies and I decided to pick up a hair dryer for early morning hair sessions. They had a wide selection to choose from but I bought a Revlon Volume Styler which was only $15.00 and looked like a good buy. To complete my favorite hairstyles…I need added volume without the frizz and this new hair dryer gives me that!

I started out with just a basic ponytail  which is a style I use a lot in my hair because I like to keep it out of my face. First of all, I washed my hair using shampoo and applying conditioner to the ends. After rinsing, I used my towel to squeeze out excess water. Then, I brushed my hair so it was smooth and straight and started to blowdry it using the volume diffuser. I usually flip my hair over and blowdry the roots for extra volume. After my hair was dry, I sprayed it with a volumizing hairspray and tousled it for a messy effect. Also, I parted my hair in a sidepart using my fingers.
 After that, I teased my hair starting at the roots all over but focused on the crown and added more hairspray to the roots. Then, I gathered my hair at the base of my neck and fastened it with a hair binder, letting some shorter pieces of hair hang down.  Starting at my crown, I pulled gently at my roots making the hair on my scalp loose and making a bump. Then, I placed a couple bobby pins at the base of the bump to hold it in place and add more volume. After that, I teased the top of my ponytail and used hairspray one last time! For a finishing touch, I slid two silver bobby pins with flowers on them, side by side into my hair.
  For this style, my hair was still clean and had lots of volume from teasing and hairspray so this went a lot faster! I followed a lot of the same steps as the last one but changed it up a little bit. I removed my side part and pulled my hair straight back. Then, I yet again pulled it into a ponytail at the base of my neck. After that, I slid a headband about an inch back from my forehead and gently pulled the hair behind the headband, up. I used hairspray for a finishing touch.
 For the last style, I split my hair into a sidepart once more. Then, starting at the back of my hair and a little to the left, I braided my hair into a side braid coming down onto the right. I then pulled up my hair and sprayed it with hairspray to add a messy look. I also placed a jeweled headband about two inches back from my forehead for decoration.
OK…I think I’m ready for school! :) NOT! Thanks for reading and I hope you have a good first week!
