I was a guest over at The Silly Pearl last week and thought I would post my shoe tutorial here in case you missed it over there!

My daughter, Vanessa, bought these shoes when we couldn’t find the ones she wanted. I told her we could paint over the flowers and decorate them however she wanted. The first step was to tape off the soles and toes to keep them paint free! I used masking tape but there was some sticky residue left when I took it off so painter’s tape would be better.

Next, we covered the shoes with black acrylic paint.

After letting the black paint dry, we painted stripes on the sides of the shoes with paint markers.

Then, we drew an oversized peace sign on the tongue of the shoes.

The last step is to remove the tape. Vanessa is so happy with how the shoes turned out and has worn them every day since school started!!
