I received my November issue of Whole Living – A Martha Stewart Publication early last week. When I was looking through it, I noticed this article about a woman who developed her own natural skin care line.
When asked about her reasons for starting the line, part of her reason came from her stepfather being diagnosed with cancer. Above you can see what the doctor at the Mayo Clinic told them. Later in the week, my tween was given the opportunity to try out Crystal Roll-On Body Deodorant.

I did some research on Crystal Deodorant and found that it is a natural deodorant that contains only 3 ingredients. So, I asked Vanessa what she thought and she wanted to try it. We went to Walmart to pick some up. You can check out our shopping trip for the deodorant.
Vanessa added the Crystal Roll-On Deodorant to her drawer in the bathroom and has been using it for 5 days. I asked her throughout the week what she thought of it. Her first observation was “You have to be careful when putting it on so you don’t pinch your skin!” She has never used a roll-on before. The next time I asked she said, “I think it works fine!” The next day she said, “At first I didn’t like how wet it was but I am used to it now.” Her final verdict was “I think it works good and I like that it doesn’t have all that stuff in it but I wish it was scented!” When she says “all that stuff” she is referring to us comparing the ingredients in deodorants at Walmart in the shopping trip above.
After my daughter’s comment about the deodorant not being scented, I checked Crystal’s website and they do make 3 scented versions (Pomegranate, Lavendar & White Tea and Chamomile & Green Tea) but they were not available at my Walmart.

I started using Crystal Roll On myself this week. Wish I could find the scented versions, but I’m very happy otherwise.
Love your post – and pictures. Great story line. I’ve been using Crystal for the past 2 months. I love it – it works – no smell. Also, we lost a family member to cancer this week (my cousin’s wife) she was 42. We also lost a close friend of the family yesterday to cancer. Anything I can do to help lower the risk….I’m going to do!!!!
