Green Grass & Lawn Care in March???

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
It is hard to believe but we already have green grass here in Minnesota.  I know that in other parts of the country, green grass in March is the norm but not here!  We often have snow on the ground at this time of the year and if not snow then we have brown lawns.
Once spring and the green grass arrives, it is time to start taking care of the lawn!  My husband does most of the lawn work at our house.  Here are some of the things we need to do this spring:

1. Clean up all of the sticks and branches from winter storms.

2.  Aerate the lawn:  This will help to allow water, oxygen, fertilizer and nutrients to reach better reach the roots of the grass.
3. Fertilize the lawn: the new Scotts® Snap® Spreader System would make this job easy!

4.  Reseed:  Spring is a great time to reseed patchy areas in the lawn.
5.  Rake the lawn:  We need to rake up dead grass and leaves.

6.  Trim the bushes and shrubs:  With the spring, comes lots of new growth and some of that has to be controlled.  Also, we had some storms that damaged a few of our bushes and shrubs last winter.
7.  Plant flowers:  I want to plant some easy to care for perennials to add to the ones we already have!
8.  Insect control:  Spray the yard and foundation to keep the bugs out.

Why would a Scotts Snap Spreader System make the fertilizing job easier?  The spreader has a Snap Pac that connects directly to the spreader so you don’t have to worry about making a mess.  It is all ready to go and you don’t have to think about settings..  Plus, it has an EdgeGuard feature that helps keep the fertilizer off the sidewalk and driveway.  When you are done using the spreader, the Snap Pac self seals for easy storage.

  1. We will definitely need to cut our lawn this week! It’s going crazy! My husband was in Minnesota this week. I never realized that’s where you are. Neat!
