{Sweet Prescriptions} Get Well Treat Jars

Get Well Treat Jars
Have you been sick in your household this winter?  We’ve been catching various bugs and I can’t wait for spring to arrive (which is in exactly 1 week) so hopefully we can all feel better! These Get Well Jars are something I’ve had bouncing around my head for some time now.  The idea stemmed from when my daughter had her wisdom teeth pulled.  The surgeon we visited sent home a treat prescription along with a small container of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream!  It was such a thoughtful thing from them to do!  So, instead of ice cream, I used chocolate, of course, and I changed the prescription wording.
Empty Jars, M&M's, Twine, Labels
To make these sweet prescriptions, I used:  4 oz glass jelly jars, labels, baker’s twine, glue and candy.  I used M&M’s but any small candies could be used.  I sorted the M&M’s into the jars by color.  I bought the 19.20 oz bag of M&M’s and there were enough of some colors and not quite enough of others to fill the jars.  Some stores sell and even bigger bag of M&M’s than the one I purchased, if you want to be sure to have enough.  Otherwise, the colors can be mixed up in the jar.
Prescription Treat Jar Labels
I glued the labels to the tops of the jars.
Baker's Twine Wrapped Jars
I wrapped a piece of coordinating twine around the jars and held it in place with a glue spot.

Want to win some baker’s twine?  The giveaway for twine from The Twinery is still open!!

Printable Jar Labels

You can print the labels for the {Sweet Prescription} Get Well Jars here or you can make your own if you want to change the size or the wording.  Just cut the labels out on the gray circles.  Each label measures 2 inches across so for bigger jars, bigger labels might be needed.

Get Well Treat Jars
Now, I just need to deliver the treats along with get well wishes!  I’m thinking my youngest will be wanting to fake an illness just so he can have a treat jar!
And the winner from Giveaway #1 from the Bloggy Birthday Party is:

    What a “sweet” idea …

This is such a great project! I love it’s simplicity. In fact, it’s downright cinchy … and would be perfect at our “It’s a Cinch” multi-blog link party. The link stays open until midnight Friday and when you link at one blog, you’re automatically linked up to the party’s five co-hosts …

jmmonroe ~ Hi, I don’t have a way to contact you so I am going to type my reply here and hope that you come back to see it. I bought the 19.20 oz bag of M&M’s. There was enough of some colors and not quite enough of others. Thanks for asking…I will add the info to the post.
