{Spotlight Friday} How To Save Money Shopping Online & In-store

via
How much of your shopping do you do online?  So far, I’ve never done my grocery shopping online but I definitely shop online for clothes, shoes, toys and electronics.  I love that I can do it from home, compare prices and save gas money!  But whether I am shopping online or in-store, I always try to check for coupons first!  My kids have gotten so used to me doing this that it is second nature to them now!  If they want to buy something they will ask me if it’s on sale or if I have coupon for it.  Before my teen goes shopping, she looks for coupons on her own and asks me if I have any!  There are very few times that anyone in our family pays full price.
So, how does this work?  It’s easy!  Just figure out the stores that you are planning to shop at and then search for a coupon code at a website like Coupon Codes 4 U.  They have hundreds of coupons from all the big name stores!  Check them out at Coupon Codes 2012.  Let’s say you need to by a Mother’s Day Gift and you know that your mom loves anything from Chicos.  Just got to CouponCodes4U and search for Chicos coupons in the search box at the top.  I just checked and I found a coupon code for 20% off!  Or you can try Thomas Pink Coupon and get free shipping on orders over $100!
Or it can go the other way around…let’s say you just happen to be checking out Home Decorators for wonderful knockoff ideas when you happen upon your dream craft room and there is no way you can make it yourself.  So, before making a purchase, go search for a Home Decorators Coupon Code and then make the purchase at a discounted price!
I also look for printable in-store coupons online.  For example, I was at Aeropostale on Tuesday night buying t-shirts for Vanessa.  You can print a coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase to use in-store by searching for Aeropostale coupons!  Another way to get coupons is to get on the email list of your favorite companies.  Some stores even send you a coupon for $5 off or a certain % off registering!  I have an email account that is separate from my regular account for these types of emails because they can bog down my regular inbox.  There are also a couple of stores that send me text messages with coupons or sale information.  I almost forgot to add this part to this post but I actually got a text from JcPenney about a sale while writing this!

  1. I never pay full price either. I also search for codes before buying online and print any coupons before going to a store.

  2. I love online shopping because there always seems to be a promo code available. I love that places are now taking mobile phone coupons so no need to print. Thanks for the tips!

  3. Great tips! I can’t bring myself to pay full price for any clothing item. It kind of gets annoying actually. I worked in retail for a number of years, so I know that sales (and coupons) are the best way to shop.

  4. Hi Tonia! Thanks for stopping by my blog (Royal Daughter Designs) earlier tonight. I like to stop by retailmenot.com to check for codes I may have missed when I go shopping online. :)

    Be blessed!

  5. I love shopping online and always look for a coupon code. Found you through a Blog Hop and I am a new follower. :)

  6. I ALWAYS use coupon codes when doing online shopping! I am your newest follower from the networking blog hop! I would love if you would stop by my blog and if you like what you see follow back :)

  7. I always search for online codes before shopping. Ebates and the Bank of American Add it Up Cash Back options are add ons for any purchase with a store that is a partner. That gives me extra cash back for making a purchase I already planning to make!
