{Kid’s Crafts} Dot Paints

I didn’t have a photography post ready to go this Thursday so I decided to post this easy kid craft.  Two of my nieces spent a couple of hours at our house and Zack was wondering what he could do with them.  I suggested that they use the dot paints.  My kids LOVED using them when they were younger but rarely remember to use them now that they are getting older.  What are dot paints?  They are bingo paints or bottles of paint with sponge tips.
It is easy to set up…just roll out a long piece of paper.  Our paper roll is from Ikea. If you don’t have a roll of paper regular sheets work fine too but kids love having a huge empty space to fill!  Put out the dot paints in a variety of colors.
Then, let the kids get to it.  All they have to do is press the sponge tip to the paper and it leaves a dot.  They can make line by connecting lots of dots.

Or just place dots in random places switching colors whenever they want.
We have a few different brands of dot paints that we have picked up here and there.  They love the silver shimmer one!
Since the top is a sponge, kids shouldn’t use these dot paints like they would a paint brush.  If they rub the tip on the paper, it will tear the sponge and that bottle will be ruined.
If they press down fast and hard, it will make splatters.
Once they fill up one sheet of paper just unroll another long sheet and let them continue.  The clean up is easy…secure the lids and that’s it.  There are no paint brushes to clean.
What are some quick, easy kid’s crafts that you have on hand?
Due to stolen content, I have found it necessary to only show a snippet of my blog posts in my feed. Thank you for understanding that I want to keep the content I work hard to create on my website where it is originally published: thegunnysack.com
