Three years ago, World Market left Minnesota and we’ve been missing them ever since! But look at that big red sign in the center of this picture…NOW OPEN!! Yes, it’s true! World Market has returned to the Twin Cities. I was invited to the Grand Opening Preview Party on Wednesday evening. It was my first ever event as a blogger and I was so excited to go. I was able to bring a guest with me so I brought my daughter Christine.

We were greeted at the door by Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine. After checking in, we received a World Market tote bag with a few treats in it.

The party was casual with the fantastic World Market merchandise as the stars! The public was welcome to come in and shop as well but the grand opening ceremony was on Thursday. While at the party I met a few local bloggers. This was another first for me! I met Janel from Nellie Bellie, Chrissy from The Taylor House and Mimi from Woven By Words. They are all as wonderful in person as they are on their blogs! The World Market staff was so kind and super helpful. I had the opportunity to speak to Kevin Darbison, World Market District Manager. He was very welcoming and excited about World Market’s return to Minnesota!

Jennifer Blaise Kramer, the Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine HOME Editor, was at the party. She found her favorite items in the store and left these cards in those places. I have to agree that these Daim Marabou Milk Chocolate candy bars are a great choice!

There were servers passing out appetizers from Seven. I enjoyed the bruschetta which was a “fresh blend of roma tomatoes, sweet basil, balsamic vinegar & extra-virgin oil served with toasted ciabatta”.

I also sampled the caprese appetizer which was a first from me and I loved it! The caprese was “hand-pulled fresh mozzarella, vine ripened tomato, fresh sweet basil, olive oil & balsamic glacé”.

We wandered around the store gawking at all of the beautiful items. We didn’t add anything to our cart until we had been in the store for quite some time. I felt like a kid in a candy shop, unable to make up my mind about what to buy. Of course, by the time we left I had a cart full of items! I love these woven baskets. The colors would be perfect for fall.

We checked out all of the dishes, glasses, kitchen utensils, kitchen gadgets and table linens. These cup stacks are too cute for words!

Christine has been wanting one of these mini electric whisks for mixing up coffee drinks. This one is called a milk frother and it was only $2.99.

We spent a great deal of time smelling all of the soaps and lotions. The grapefruit scent was one of our favorites. I bought Christine an adorable brown metallic wrap watch that we spotted while checking out the headbands, scarves and wraps.

Look at all of these adorable items for fall! So cute! We sampled the caramel pumpkin pie coffee and purchased the maple pecan pie coffee to try at home. There were lots of pumpkin food items like pumpkin pasta sauce and pumpkin scone mix as well as other autumn food items.
Thank you, World Market, for coming back to Minnesota! I’ve had so many people tell me how excited they are about being able to shop at World Market again! There are lots of fun grand opening events going on this weekend so be sure to check them out! You can find out more here: World Market Minnesota

Hi, I'm Tonia from The Gunny Sack! As a wife and mother of three, I enjoy cooking, creating and capturing it all with my camera! Coffee, with a little chocolate now and then, keeps me happy.

I’m so glad you were there! It was fun!
What a great looking store Tonia. A bit of everything! I’m so glad you had a great time. It’s nice meeting bloggers in real life.

What a fun event! World Market is one of my favorite stores – they always have the coolest stuff! I haven’t seen one yet in Nashville but I hope there is one.
This will make many of us very happy. No more therapy for why they left us, only retail therapy now that they are back.

Yum! Those party appetizers looked great. And I love their fall home decor. After reading this I know I better head out and go shopping!
I’m so happy they’re back in MN! I have to go back because I know there’s so much I missed! Like you, I felt like a kid in a candy shop. I could use that mini whisk, too! lol It was SO fun to meet you in person! =)
Why would they ever leave? I have one literally two minutes down the road from my house which is both a good and a bad thing!
I wish I had one of those stores near me. thank you for sharing
