Today is World Pasta Day! To celebrate I made a Barilla pasta dinner. Pasta is one of the things every member of my family loves so we have it in various forms a couple of days a week. Life gets so busy and there isn’t always time to make a big meal but pasta is quick, easy and delicious. I find that while I am making a meal, I am often multi-tasking! Did you know that 88% of parents are reliant upon multi-tasking each day and more than half (58%) say their life is more hectic now, than a year ago? Being a blogger, I am trying to snap pictures of the food I am making but trying to keep the cooking process going smoothly. Sometimes the multi-tasking goes well like when I can help my kids with their homework by answering questions. Other times it doesn’t go so well like last week when I started a load of laundry but forgot to add the clothes and didn’t realize until I sat down to eat dinner! But eating a meal together is so important and should be a top priority for every family. Eating meals together helps us be more connected. We talk about how our day went, our plans for the week and our hope and dreams for the future. The key is to find easy to prepare meals that your family loves!

I received a box of Barillia products, “Dinner: A Love Story” cookbook and a couple of coupons as well as a the Barilla Modern Family Cookbook. In the cookbook, I found a recipe for Three Cheese Tortellini In Sage Brown Butter Sauce that I wanted to try.

I’ve never noticed this Barilla Three Cheese Tortellini in the grocery store but after making this meal it is going to be a staple in my pantry because it was delicious and really quick! Pasta is recognized by parents and non-parents as a tasty (88%) and easy (87%) meal option and one that can be prepared using on-hand ingredients from a pantry (82%). Other benefits of pasta that help alleviate chaotic schedules include that it is versatile (52%), a quick go-to meal (51%) and allows for multitasking while its cooking (44%). Notice on the package it says that dinner is ready in 10 minutes! I love that!

The recipe called for a 12 oz size package of Barilla Three Cheese Tortellini but all I had was an 8 oz package so I used that instead. First, I cooked the tortellini in a pot of boiling water.

While the tortellini was cooking, I put garlic cheese bread in the oven. Then, I put the salad in a bowl. Next, I added butter to a pan and let it brown.

I removed it from the heat and added sage to the butter and stirred.

I drained the tortellini and added it to the pan with the butter and sage sauce.

I gently tossed the tortellini and sauce until it was coated.

I had my husband remove the garlic cheese bread from the oven while I put the tortellini in bowls and topped it with fresh Parmesan. It was a big hit! Even my pickiest eater had to admit that it was delicious!
