{Holiday Celebrations 2012 E-Guide} Dressing Up For The Holidays

With Thanksgiving this week, Christmas will be here before we know it! It seems like time just speeds up around this time of the year. How do you plan to make it go smoothly for your family? I think the most important thing is to remember the reason for the celebration and not to get too caught up in the details! Planning ahead and scheduling quiet time is important too. Your family doesn’t have to say yes to every invitation. It is okay to take time for yourselves to just sit back and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa! This year the Holiday Celebrations 2012 e-guide is helping to making things easier. Do you read online magazines? This e-guide is like a magazine for the holidays complete with tips, gifts, recipes, shopping ideas and gift codes. I want to share some idea for dressing up for the holidays that I found in the guide.

Sears is a great, affordable choice for finding winter apparel for myself. They have a gorgeous website set up for checking out the latest trends to find complete outfits from the clothes to the accessories to shoes. Wondering what to get that teen in your life? What teenaged girl doesn’t love clothes and accessories?  I plan on looking for items to give as holiday gifts in this e-guide and SearsStyle.com has some fun items! Plus there is a link to a 20% off coupon in the Holiday Celebrations 2012 e-guide!

For my kids, I can shop at Cookie’s Kids. Well, actually not all my kids anymore…they are growing so fast and now both of my daughters need to shop in the teen or adult clothing departments! But my son Zack, who loves getting new clothes, will be shopping at Cookie’s Kids. He needs some new holiday wear. I am letting him pick out something a little dressy for church and something more casual for our family Christmas. Cookie’s Kids has a good selection, great prices and we’ve ordered from them several times. For Cookie’s Kids, the e-guide has two great coupons! You can use promo code FSALL 99 for free shipping off $99 apparel purchase or use promo code JESTER when you purchase $200 from Cookie’s Kids to get a FREE North Face Backpack! Be on the lookout a blog post showing the great items that Zack picked out!

Now, how about some ideas for dressing up your home? Here are some great tips from Party Bluprints, one of the contributors to the Holiday Celebrations 2012 e-guide. Dawn and Elizabeth say that the number one trend is do-it-yourself which will help save families money and add to the festive spirit. In the picture above you can see the 12 Days of Christmas Good Deed Cards that they put together to bring the Christmas spirit to life! I hope to do lots of DIY this year!

Trend number two for dressing up your home for the holidays is au naturel meaning that nature continues to be the primary source of inspiration. I totally agree! It is really fun to head out in your backyard and then try to use some of the items you find to make decorations for you home. The photo above shows a pine cone tree. I’ve also seen people use this same idea when making wreaths!

White is trend number three according to Party Bluprints. All of the snowy decorations will look beautiful at Christmas and many of them can be used the entire winter as well! Add some white to you home with artificial snow, paint and glitter!
