This recipe for Nutella S’mores Bars has layers of graham crackers, chocolate, Nutella and toasted marshmallows to celebrate World Nutella Day!
I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but today is World Nutella Day! I missed it last year, so I set a reminder in my Google calendar for this year and put it out of my mind. Sure enough, Google sent me a friendly email last night letting me know about today’s event! So, in celebration, I made Nutella S’mores Bars. These bars are inspired by a recipe from one of my aunts for what we call Club Cracker Bars, although I seem to remember them being called Rickety Uncles when I was a kid. I tried searching for a Rickety Uncles recipe and the ones I found are like an oatmeal bar so I’m not exactly sure where that memory came from. Anyway, I decided to combine the club cracker bars with s’mores ingredients and add Nutella to the mix!
Line a 9×13 inch pan with foil and grease with cooking spray. Cover the bottom of the pan with about 1 package of graham crackers. Crush 1 cup of the graham crackers. I used about 1 package of the graham crackers.
Combine butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, evaporated milk and graham crackers in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and continue boiling for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour the caramel mixture over the crackers in the pan. Break Hershey’s bars into small pieces and place in the caramel sauce.
Cover with another layer of about 1 package of graham crackers. Spread the Nutella over the graham crackers. Top with mini marshmallows.
Toast under broiler for about 2 minutes, watching carefully so marshmallows don’t burn.
Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.
