Finding My Holiday Style At Sears

I am one of “those moms” who has a hard time spending money on herself especially when it comes to buying clothes. It seems like someone else in my family always has a bigger need than I do because they are growing and sometimes because they simply wear things out! But with the holidays I really do need a few new items to wear. So, last week I went shopping at Sears at the Mall of America to find some clothes for myself!

I was looking for outfits that are dressier than yoga pants and a hoodie…I know, that’s a broad range but that makes it easy! I still want to be comfortable and it is important that most of the pieces I buy can be used for multiple outfits. I want to be able to wear the tops with a skirt and the jeans with a hoodie. I am a long time Sears fan! It feels like the great clothes and shoes at Sears are a little know secret. The women’s clothing department at the Mall of America Sears is gigantic and I tried on so many cute things. I finally narrowed it down to three outfits that I shared on Instagram as well as The Gunny Sack’s Facebook page (so I could include those who aren’t on Instagram yet). I asked everyone to vote for their favorite outfit.

Here is outfit number one. It includes a pair of Canyon River Blues jeans, a Covington Women’s Sleeveless Cowl Blouse and a Covington Women’s Open Front Shrug Sweater.
This outfit received a total of 13 votes.

Outfit number two was a pair of Bongo jeans and a Covington Women’s Cowl Neck Sweater.
This outfit received three votes.

The third outfit I shared is a pair of Canyon River Blues jeans with a Notations Women’s Metallic Cowl Neck Sweater.
This outfit received twenty votes!

Outfit three received the most of Facebook votes and some very nice comments as well.

So, which outfit did I end up buying? Of course, I bought the one with the most votes which was outfit number three. But the biggest #styleSurprise is that due to the fantastic sale prices at Sears and a coupon for an additional 20%, I was able to buy all three of my outfits! Then, I went to the men’s department and found my husband a gray shirt that he can wear with dress pants as well as with jeans. He loves it and wore it the day after I bought it! I have not had the opportunity to wear my new clothes yet but I am excited to wear them during the holidays! My teen took these pictures of me and she told me that she really likes my new sweater. My husband told me he thinks all of the outfits look great.

You look great 🙂 I find that even buying just a few new pieces a few times of year helps you feel great and you can combine them with other things to get more bang for your buck!

That is so awesome that you got all 3 outfits and didn’t spend a ton! The sweater looks great with your jeans and I’m amazed that those jeans came from Sears. They look like designer denim!

Oh you look gorgeous Tonia. I’m so glad you got all three. You should splurge on yourself more often. (I know I should too. I bought a pair of sandals today marked down to half price so I was pretty pleased with myself.)
