Stromboli

This recipe is a family favorite!  Not only does it taste fantastic, your house will smell wonderful while it’s baking.  The full recipe is typed at the end of this post for easier printing.

It all starts with a yeast dough.  This time I chose to make my own dough following Our Best Bites recipe for Pizza Dough but a thawed loaf of frozen bread dough works just as well.
Roll the dough out on a greased pan.  I used a cookie sheet but a jelly roll pan or a rectangle stone would work too.
Mix Together and Brush on Middle of Dough:
1 egg plus
1 egg yolk (keep egg white for later)
1 Tablespoon Parmesan
1 Tablespoon Oil
1/2 Teaspoon Parsley
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
1/4 Teaspoon Black Pepper
Top with:
1 Cup Cheese (mozarella, cheddar, or marble)
1/2 Cup of Pepper Jack Cheese
Pepperoni Slices (or any toppings of your choice)
Roll up or fold dough together and tuck in ends.

Brush with beaten egg white and sprinkle with Parmesan
Bake for 25-30 minutes at 350°F.  My dough was not very sturdy so it got thin and the cheese and pepperoni show through.  This usually doesn’t happen.
Serve hot with spaghetti sauce for dipping.
Stromboli
Roll out one thawed loaf of frozen bread dough or homemade dough on a greased pan.
Mix Together:
1 egg
1 egg yolk (keep egg white for later)
1 Tablespoon Parmesan
1 Tablespoon Oil
1/2 Teaspoon Parsley
1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
