With Christmas less than a month away, one of the things that is on my to-do list is to get my kids their holiday wear. We usually buy them at least one new outfit to wear at Christmas. I like to buy them early enough that we can take their Christmas photo with their new outfits. Although I still have to shop for Christine and Vanessa, we purchased clothes for Zack from Cookie’s Kids and he is very happy with what he picked out!
Last week, I showed you the Holiday Celebrations 2012 #HolidayGuide

that is full of great tips for the holiday season, gift ideas, holiday recipes, and gift codes! Since my kids need clothes, the page that stood out the most to me was the Cookie’s Kids page. I’ve ordered from Cookie’s Kids many times and already love their prices and selection.

The section of the Cookie’s Kids page from the e-guide that I really noticed was the lower right side with the promo codes! By using the promo code JESTER when making a purchase of $200 from Cookie’s Kids, you can get a free North Face Backpack! I wasn’t planning on spending quite that much but I could use promo code FSALL99 to get free shipping on a $99 apparel purchase! So, when Zack got home from school, he looked around on Cookie’s Kids website and found some things that he liked but there were so many choices that he was having a hard time narrowing it down! So, I shopped with him. We chose outfits, figured out sizes, added items to the cart only to replace them with other items!

Finally we placed the order and the very next morning Zack asked if it was going to come that day! He was disappointed to learn that he would have to wait a few days to get his new clothes. When the order arrived he was so excited! Many people say their boys don’t care about clothes but not Zack, he loves getting new clothes! Here is the stack of clothes we bought from Cookie’s Kids from top to bottom: Guess “Sealing Wax” Sweater, Enyce “Next Horizon” Hooded Shirt, Puma “Split Jump” Hooded Sweatshirt, Hanes 3-Pack Premium Lay-Flat T-Shirts, LR Scoop Twill Cargo Pants in Black, LR Scoop Twill Cargo Pants in Khaki and Nautica “Seamly” Slim Straight Jeans.

Zack paired the Enyce “Next Horizon” Hooded Shirt with the Nautica “Seamly” Slim Straight Jeans. This is his more casual holiday outfit that he can wear to our family Christmas. The dark jeans and striped shirt are dressy enough for the holidays but casual enough that he will be able to wear them all winter. Zack is really impressed with the jeans! He said they are so comfortable and wishes all of his jeans could be like these. He also told me that he really likes the slim straight fit and wants to buy them from now on.

The Puma “Split Jump” Hooded Sweatshirt isn’t holiday wear but it definitely qualifies as winter wear! Zack loves wearing hoodies because he can wear layers and when he gets warm he can take the hoodie off.

We will go to church on Christmas Day so Zack will wear the Guess “Sealing Wax” Sweater with a Hanes Premium Lay-Flat T-Shirt in black underneath. Zack told me he was happy to finally get a sweater that he really likes! The sweater will be paired with the LR Scoop Twill Cargo Pants in Black. Again, Zack was really impressed with these pants. He said they are so comfortable and the material reminds him of Brian’s dress pants. They are made with a light, cotton blend and even though they are cargo pants they have a straight fit which he likes. We also bought a pair of these pants in khaki. We will be going to church on Christmas Eve and he can wear the khaki pants with a dress shirt that he already owns.

Do you buy your kids new holiday outfits each year?
