It feels like summer vacation is just starting but my kids have been out for almost 1 month already! We start stocking up on school supplies next month. Vanessa is heading to middle school and when I received a box brimming with Mod Podge products, I knew what to make…locker accessories in bright, bold, tween girl style!
Mod Podge has a whole bunch of new items available in stores and I was lucky enough to receive all of these drool worthy products! What a haul! There is a Mod Podge Sampler Set, Podgeable Shapes, Tracing Templates, Adhesive Mounts, Rub-On Transfers, 7 Piece Tool Kit, Repositionable Glue, Jewel Glue, Wash Out For Kids Mod Podge, Podgeable Papers, Brush Applicator, Gold & Silver Dimensional Magic, Silicone Craft Mat, Super High Shine Sealer, Pearlized Glaze Sealer, Mod Podge Matte, Antique Matte Mod Podge, Super Gloss Mod Podge, Mod Podge Gloss, Glow-in-the-Dark Mod Podge, One Step Crackle Medium, Photo Transfer Medium, Hot Glue Finger Caps and a Roller Applicator! Wondering where you can pick up these items? You can find them at Michaels!
To make the locker bling, I used the Podgeable Shapes and the Tracing Templates. The larger shapes I turned into dry erase boards and the smaller shapes into magnets and backpack charms.
The first step was to choose paper. I wanted to stick with colors that worked together. I chose the “friends” paper as my color inspiration.
Then, using the Tracing Templates, I traced and cut out all of the shapes.
I Mod Podged the paper shapes face down onto the Podgeable Shapes using Mod Podge Gloss. I use my silicon mat to protect my table.
I used the squeegee to smooth out the papers. After allowing these to dry, I added a top coat of Mod Podge Gloss to the white side of the paper.
Once the Mod Podge dried, I added a magnet to the back of the Podgeable Shapes. I put 2 strips on the back of the larger items.
I also made some small clothes pins. First I put a magnetic strip on the clothes pins. Then, using the same Mod Podge Gloss, I added paper.
Once the Mod Podge dried, I decided to try out the Mod Podge Dimensional Magic. I cover the tops of the clothes pins and allowed them to dry.
I also made a couple of backpack charms using the Podgeable Shapes with holes.
