This Christmas Ham recipe has a sweet and tangy orange glaze and it is easy to make in the oven or in a slow cooker!
Disclosure: I received a Farberware Cookware set to facilitate this post. All opinions are 100% my own.
My family’s favorite main dish for the holidays is ham. Last year, I shared a recipe for making ham in a slow cooker. That is still a great way to make ham, but this year I wanted to share a faster way to make a ham. This Orange Glazed Christmas Ham is heated in a Dutch oven for about one hour. The recipe is adapted from a fantastic recipe that my sister-in-law uses to make glazed deli ham for sandwiches.
Pots and Pans Set
I got to try out the Farberware New Traditions Stainless Steel 14-piece set. It features traditional bell-shaped pieces with shatter-resistant glass lids which allow you to check on your food while cooking. The skillets have solid aluminum craftsmanship to ensure that they heat fast and even.
Handwashing the skillets is recommended to preserve the nonstick surface, but the rest of the pots and pans are dishwasher safe and all of them are oven safe to 350˚F. The set includes 1-Quart, 2-Quart and 3-Quart Cov Saucepans, 5-Quart Cov Dutch Oven, 8-Inch Skillet, 9-3/4-Inch Cov Skillet, Slotted Turner, Slotted and Solid Spoon.

Christmas Ham Ingredients
This Christmas ham recipe only requires a few ingredients. You’ll need a ham as well as four simple ingredients to make the Christmas ham glaze.
- Ham: For this recipe, you’ll need a ten-pound, bone-in ham.
- Orange Juice: The orange juice provides sweetness and tanginess.
- Ground Mustard: A little ground mustard provides flavor and adds to the tanginess.
- Brown Sugar: We used brown sugar for sweetness and flavor. You can use granulated sugar if you prefer, but it doesn’t have as much flavor.
- Honey: The honey adds sweetness, thickens the glaze, and helps the glaze coat the ham.
How To Make A Glazed Holiday Ham
This glazed holiday ham is so easy to make! Once you’ve prepared the glaze, you simply have to bake the ham until it is heated through.
- Slice: Cut the ham into slices and discard the bone. Place the slice in a dutch oven or casserole dish.
- Glaze: Boil the glaze and pour it over the sliced ham.
- Bake: Cover the dutch oven or casserole dish and bake until the ham is heated through.
This Christmas ham made in a Dutch oven was fabulous and the Farberware New Traditions cookware set was so easy to use! I served the ham with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and dinner rolls. Then, we used the leftovers to make ham and cheese sandwiches on croissants!
Yes, you can make this orange glazed ham recipe in a crockpot or in the oven. It will take 3-4 hours in a crockpot or 1 hour in the oven.
We use leftover ham to make ham and cheese sandwiches, ham and potato soup, omelets, and breakfast casseroles.
Yes, you can substitute an equal amount of pineapple juice to make the glaze.

moving and needed electric appliances to cook with until they could get the gas connected. ;'(
