Thanks so my sister-in-law and her planning ahead, we already have a Mother’s Day gift for my mother-in-law. But I didn’t have one for my mom yet, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to go shopping at Sears for her gift. Do you remember how I went shopping at Sears for holiday clothes for myself right before Christmas? Well, this time instead of going shopping for myself, I went for my mom. If you look at that post, you will notice that the clothes I tried on were mainly black, gray and blue. Guess where I get that from? My mom!
My mom (and dad) raised all of us kids with such love and patience. They continue to worry about and care for all of us. Plus, now they have sons and daughter’s-in-law as well as grandchildren to care for! Choosing a Mother’s Day gift is always hard because it seems like nothing can quite express how much you love your mom and how thankful you for all she’s done for you. I decided that I wanted to get something for my mom that would pamper her. She spends so much time giving to everyone else that she deserves a little pampering! She isn’t the type to go to a spa but I knew that I could make her some spa type products and she could use them at home. I also decided that I would get her a new handbag from Sears. Not only could I give her the pampering products in the handbag, but she is planning on doing some traveling this summer and she could take the new bag with her! So, I looked through the searsStyle Mother’s Day Gift Guide and found a beautiful Rosetti Donna Power Play handbag to buy her. Of course it is white, gray and black! I looked at other colors but I knew this is the one I would pick for myself so I figured it was probably the one my mom would choose too. I redeemed some of my Shop Your Way Rewards points plus I had a coupon that I received in the mail for 15% off an accessories purchase so I saved a total of $7.82 off my purchase!
I also found a Burt’s Bees Radiance Healthy Glow Kit that includes facial cleanser, daytime face lotion, night cream, eye cream and lip balm. I know that she really like’s Burt’s Bees products so this is the perfect kit for her!
In addition to the Burt’s Bees kit, I am giving her some of the Coconut Body Butter that I made recently. You can find that recipe here: Coconut Body Butter Recipe. I also made a foot soak and a foot scrub. My mom can spend some time pampering herself while getting her feet ready for the summer! The foot soak is similar to my Peppermint Foot Soak but this one has an orange scent for summer! The foot scrub is also orange scented and was made with coconut oil instead of olive oil like my Maple Brown Sugar Scrub. I will post the recipes for those two spa products later this week.
My mom’s two main requirement when it comes to handbags are inside storage and a zippered top. Her handbag has to have dividers and pockets. It also has to zip completely closed on the top. So, I definitely checked for those items before deciding on a handbag from Sears. The inside of this Rosetti handbag is divided into two separate compartments, each with their own zippered closure. In one of the compartments, there are two cell phone pockets and in the other there is a small zippered pocket.
It has a unique braided purse strap and two large exterior pockets.
All of the skincare products fit easily into the handbag. I put the entire purse into a giftbag and her present is ready to give. I know that she will be delighted with her gift! Now I just need to go back to Sears to find myself a few Mother’s Day gifts and some clothes for the summer!
