These Peanut Butter Cup Brownies In A Jar are easy individual servings of dessert for a party! They can be given as gifts or sold at a bake sale!
I made these little beauties for my party on Monday and they were delicious! Over the top?? Sure, but delicious anyway! And besides being adorable, they were easy to make! They consist of brownies, chocolate frosting, peanut butter cups, and peanut butter frosting.
**Update: I recently learned that Ball canning jars are NOT oven safe so I’ve changed the directions for this blog post.**
Bake the brownies according to the directions on the package. Use a small cookie cutter or the top of the mason jar to cut circles of cooked brownies out of the 9×13 pan. Place the brownie circles in the mason jars.
Pipe on store-bought chocolate frosting on top of the brownies. Or make your own if you have the time.
I cut a bunch of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups into small chunks… sorry I didn’t count how many, but I think you need a little more than 1 peanut butter cup per jar.

Gotta share what I did with these…Needed a holiday bake sale item for a fundraiser so I actually started by making the brownies in a cupcake pan. At my favorite dollar store I purchased a bag of red plastic forks,a couple of bags of clear cello treat sacks and a bag of clear plastic cocktail glasses. Sliced the brownies in half, put the bottom half into the cup, piped in the chocolate frosting and a few of the reese chunks, popped in the top of the brownies, another little layer of reese’ chunks and then piped in the pnut butter frosting and popped a reese’ mini on top…stuck one of my red forks down into he side of the cup and placed each cup in a cello bag and tied it tight with he twistie around the fork. They were ADORABLE and sold for TWO DOLLARS each!! So…at the next bake sale I repeated these, but also made a couple of dozen with Andes mints, green tinted mint frosting on top and a green fork and then made double chocolate frosting kit kat ones and used yellow forks and snickers ones with a pnut butter frosting topper again with gold forks….I actually picked up party napkins to match the forks this time and presented each purchase with a matching napkin. These sold for 2.50 each!! People loved them because they could walk around eating their treat while they looked at the other craft tables…they had their fork, napkin, and when they were done everything went into the cello bag and got tossed away neatly! I can’t tell you how many folks stopped on their way out to buy a couple to take home!! Two of these fit nicely in a brown paper lunch bag (50 for a 1.00 at the dollar store)!! I dd decide to make my own icing rather than buying the icing in a can the second time because it increased the profit per unit…but now I also make sure that whenever I see icing on sale…or brownie mixes…i grab a few and store them in my pantry for the next bake sale!!

Wonderful! I am so happy to hear that! The Andes mints version sounds fantastic. My sister is having a craft sale soon. I will have to tell her to try to make these! ~Tonia

Great! Tell your sister that we completely sold out of these both times! Loads of our other baked goods went home with the moms and grandmas. We actually could have sold triple what I baked because we were sold out long before the craft show was over and had so many folks come asking for them. I wonder how we’d do if we each baked a different flavor and had a complete “candy brownie cup” stand? This year I am going to add curly ribbons to the twist ties, add a few sprinkles and try cranking the price up to 3 bucks! I’m an old retailer from way back and I know for sure that…PRESENTATION=SALES!! ( of course…the yumminess of this great treat is what brought so many customers back to buy extras to take home!!!)

be nice to be able to print this off. I hate it when I find good recipes and not able to print them off.
Tonia says
Thanks for the feedback Rosey! I’ll update the post when I get a chance but for now I would suggest that you copy and paste the recipe onto a blank document and print it off that way. Happy Baking! ~Tonia

Just highlight and then copy the recipe. Then go to you email and paste in a message to yourself and send. The you can highlight again and right click to print. I do it all the time as I too, like to make a copy but there are no always a “print” tabs. Then I have a folder for just recipes there also. Just saying….but you may already know this.
Diana Hawes says
Tonia, Can you tell me how to print this? Usually you have a print icon and I just print out your absolutely wonderful recipes. Thankyou Diana
Tonia says
Sorry Diana, this recipe is from my old website and doesn’t have the right formatting yet. I will email it to you so that you can print it. Have a great weekend!

This looks amazing!!! I know a similar one. Make the brownies according to the box. Pour into jars. Then put one caramel in the center of each. Bake. Top with chopped pecans, hot fudge and cool whip. Serve warm. It is very good. Also for people with peanut allergies this is a nice alternative.

Thanks Jan!

This would be a decent idea if any part of the recipe was homemade. Chocolate and peanut butter is overdone enough, at least make it yourself before you post it online.

This would be a decent comment if any of it had been kind. Leaving rude comments is overdone enough, at least make yours original before posting!
