I was given the opportunity to create a recipe using Country Crock spread. Part of my mission was to go shopping for the ingredients at Walmart. When I lived closer to the cities, I very rarely shopped at Walmart because it was about 20 miles away and I had a grocery store 3 miles from my house. Now that I live out in the country, Walmart is where I do most of my grocery shopping. I like that I can buy my groceries while picking up the other household things I need. The Walmart I shop at has a large selection and is almost always fully stocked, both of which are important to me!
Buying groceries is the easy part! Deciding what to make is the hard part. I had to figure out if I wanted to make something that could be eaten as a meal or I could make a dessert. For a meal, I was contemplating a macaroni and cheese bake. My family loves mac ‘n cheese and most of us love putting something crunchy on top of our mac ‘n cheese. I was thinking I could use I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter® in the recipe because has a fresh butter taste but you can feel good about because it is made with 70% less saturated fat and 30% fewer calories than butter. It contains no cholesterol or hydrogenated oils so there’s 0g trans fat per serving. I ended up buying Country Crock® spread because, like I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!®, Country Crock® spread also has 70% less saturated fat than butter and it has 30% fewer calories. In Crock Country, food and family come together by helping to make good habits more delicious. You can find both of these spreads at your local Walmart. Did you realize that both I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!® and Country Crock® can be used to cook and bake homemade meals without compromising on taste?
Next, I started thinking about how the last day of school is only a couple of days away. I like making my kids a special treat to celebrate the start of summer. Guess what I decided to make? I decided on dessert! What dessert? Check out my shopping video to see if you can figure it out! I will post the recipe and video for how to make the dessert soon!
Cooking your favorite recipes using Unilever buttery spreads is a deliciously smart move. With 0g trans fats per serving, less saturated fat and fewer calories than butter, cholesterol-free spreads are a better option.

Tonia, There is one recipe where I can’t believe it is butter nor country crock spread can be used. Only pure butter can work right and that is my chocolate mousse pie recipe. The spread does not form to make a hardened mousse for the pie it ends up runny. My daughter tried it four times and it never worked for her even using the quarters instead of spread. My thought after this is that if a recipe needs to forminto aharder substance then use what is called for do not use spreads.

Thanks Jean! You are right, there are some recipes where spread won’t work!
