How often do you get to go out to eat with another couple, without kids? Not often enough for me! But we had the opportunity to meet up with some very good friends of ours on Wednesday night. I happened to be in the same city, on the same night, as my friend Becky so we planned to meet for dinner. Then, it worked out for both of our husbands to meet up with us too! Everyone was in town and available…fantastic!
One me and Becky’s favorite places to meet for dinner is Ruby Tuesday. Why is that one of our favorite places? Because of the Fresh Garden Bar and more specifically the croutons in the salad bar. Here a bit of our text message conversation trying to figure out which location to go to and you can see that Becky thinks highly of the croutons too!!
I always check out the entire menu at Ruby Tuesday and I’ve tried many of the meals they offer but I always have to get the Fresh Garden Bar. Sometimes I get the salad bar alone and other times I get it with my meal. One of things I recently discovered at Ruby Tuesday are the Ruby Minis. I can order 2 Ruby Mini Cheeseburgers, fries and the Endless Fresh Garden Bar for only $10.99 which is great because the Endless Fresh Garden Bar alone is $9.49!
There are 4 kinds of greens: Spring Mix, Butter Lettuce, Spinach and Romaine Mix
4 Creamy Salads
Hard Boiled Eggs
Several Kinds of Salad Dressing
Here are the salads we assembled on our first trip through the salad bar. I had butter lettuce, cucumbers, peas, tomatoes, carrots, cheese, sesame seeds, hard boiled eggs, ham, pasta salad, ranch dressing and of course, croutons! I was too busy eating to question Becky as to what was in her salad but it looks like spring mix, spinach, onions, broccoli, peas, cucumbers, edamame, zucchini, hard boiled eggs, cheese, broccoli salad, croutons and a vinaigrette. Everything was so delicious and fresh!
Sometimes we are lucky enough to get croutons so fresh that they are still warm but not this time. Don’t get me wrong they were great but they they are even better right fresh from the kitchen! I was impressed that even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy, it seemed like 1 person’s only job was the salad bar. She kept it fully stocked, clean and looking nice with the tong handles standing up while being completely respectful of the people getting food from the salad bar.
The mini burgers and fries were very tasty but I was only able to eat half of the meal because I had enjoyed so much of the Fresh Garden Bar! Want to see more about our visit to Ruby Tuesday? You can check it out in my Google+ Album! We left feeling relaxed and satisfied with the delicious meal, wonderful conversation and more fond memories of good times spend with great friends!
