I just purchased a new Spira X-ACTO pencil sharpener the last time I was at Walmart! The really nice thing is that there is this printable coupon available for $3.00 off! This sharpener has already gotten a big workout! I sharpened 25 pencils on Friday to bring to my son’s class and I’m impressed at how easy it is to use.
I’m not the only one using pencils in our house. The kids use them for drawing, keeping score when playing games and doing homework. So, they’ve been wearing our pencils down and gladly using the new Spira X-ACTO pencil sharpener to get them sharp again!
On one side of the folder, I staple any expenses incurred. I use a pencil to mark the items on the receipt that were purchased for my blog. On the other side, I put the instructions I received for the blog post and a Google map showing the number of miles I traveled to purchase the items needed for the post. This system helps keep things organized throughout the year and makes it so that all of the information is ready and available when it is time to file. I also use Excel to track payments and expenses. Do you realize that even if you don’t receive a 1099 as a blogger you are still required to report any income you make? This also includes items you receive for reviews since the product is considered the payment. And you have to claim money made from advertising on your blog. But you can deduct items that you had to purchase, supplies, equipment, advertising costs, a portion of your internet costs and mileage from driving for blogging purposes. So, wish me patience when I finally receive the corrected 1099 and do the filing online!
How do you file your taxes? Do you do them yourself or hire someone else to?
