“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Scratch Wireless. I received a product sample to facilitate my review.”
For the past month, Vanessa has been trying out the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE Smartphone with service from Scratch Wireless, a new wireless company. She has been wanting a cell phone for a couple of years now and we’ve resisted so far, but as I shared in my first post, there have been more and more times when it would be very helpful if she had a phone that she could use. Our compromise was that we would get a family cell phone that she can use when she needs it.
Scratch Wireless was the perfect choice for us because texting is always free and so are phone calls and data when there is access to wifi. We’ve also paid $14.99 for 250 minutes of calling when wifi is not available and all without a contract. That is the best part! If we only needed one day of calling it would be $1.99. We can also get data for $14.99 per month or $1.99 per day but are don’t feel that is necessary right now. She used hardly any of the minutes last month because she typically sends text messages and is usually connected to wifi.
Vanessa couldn’t be more happy with the cell phone and the service. She told her aunt (my youngest sister) about it and she came over to talk to me about how it worked and to check out the phone. She needs a new phone and doesn’t want a contract. The smartphones that she looked at in a retail store were $500 and more. So, she is very interested in Scratch Wireless but needs to save up the $269 for the initial cost of the phone.
Geometry Dash is her current favorite apps and the camera is her favorite phone feature. She loves keeping in touch with her older sister and the aunt mentioned above via texting. As I am writing this post, she is at a climbing wall for a friend’s birthday party and she just sent me a message telling me that she fun. It is nice for her to be able to keep in touch with me while she isn’t at home. She likes using the slide out keyboard when texting because it is easy to use.
I’m not sure at this point that we would get Scratch Wireless cell phones for our entire family once our contract is up but I will definitely consider getting one for Christine. It is really nice not to have to worry about racking up a huge phone bill. Want to try it out for yourself and your family?
