I’ve been visiting the General Store of Minnetonka since I was a child! One time when I went with my mom and grandma we walked out of the store to find blizzard conditions! We had to drive home in a complete white out with only the taillights of the vehicle in front of us to follow! My mom had to drive with the windows open so that she could stick her head out to see better and the snow swarming in our car Thankfully we made it home okay! Anyway, I’ve been there many times over the years but it has been too long since my last visit and I really want to go again. The General Store of Minnetonka is described as having Minnesota’s best selection of gifts and good under one roof. It is a multi level 20,000 square foot store filled with unique gift items and home décor.
The store smells lovely and it is a feast for the eyes! The have kitchen gadgets, Minnesota gifts, home and cabin decor, bath and body products, candles and gourmet food items.
Upstairs they have kid’s toys and baby gifts.
They have a selection of Christmas items available year round but was the holiday season gets closer the Christmas decor comes out in full gear and I can’t wait to check it out! The General Store of Minnetonka is a locally owned and operated family business that was started in 1984! It is the perfect example of a small business that continues to thrive though the continued support of loyal customers. Want to see more pictures and find out more information? Last year I went shopping on Small Business Saturday with my husband and a couple that we are good friends with. We were staying in Duluth, Minnesota on Canal Park. There are so many wonderful little shops in that area. Many of the stores are in the DeWitt Seitz Marketplace and there are more lining the streets. We’ve been shopping those stores for more than 13 years and aren’t tired of them yet!
Where will you be shopping tomorrow?
