Chocolate Glazed Donut Whoopie Pie

Ingredients

  • 8 count can of flaky refrigerator biscuits
  • canola oil

Cream Filling:

Glaze:

Chocolate Icing:

  • 1/2 cup chocolate frosting

Instructions

Donuts:

  • Never leave oil unattended and watch it carefully!
  • Pour enough canola oil into a skillet pan so that it is 1/2 in deep and heat over medium heat. (Oil should be 350-375 degrees. I only heated oil for a little while and let the biscuits cook longer.)
  • Cut centers out of biscuits and place in hot oil.
  • Fry until golden brown before brown and then carefully flip over.
  • When the second side is golden brown, removed from oil and drain on paper towels before moving to a wire rack.

Glaze:

  • Mix together powdered sugar and cream.
  • Drizzle glaze over still hot donuts. Spread with a knife to cover completely.

Cream Filling:

  • Beat butter until light and fluffy.
  • Add powdered sugar mix until clumps form.
  • Add vanilla and 2 tablespoons heavy cream. Beat until smooth.
  • Beat in marshmallow cream.
  • Add 1-3 tablespoons of heavy cream until filling is the desired consistency.

Chocolate Icing:

  • Melt chocolate frosting in the microwave.

Assembly:

  • Cut donuts in half horizontally.
  • Pipe cream filling onto bottom half.
  • Add top half of donut.
  • Drizzle with chocolate icing.
