Easy Apple Fritter Recipe

This Easy Apple Fritter recipe is for deep-fried cake donuts dotted with bits of apples with cinnamon and frosted with a powdered sugar glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 ½ tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 cup diced Granny Smith apples
  • peanut oil or canola oil for frying
  • ½ cup powdered sugar glaze find my recipe here

Instructions

  • Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Add the egg, apple cider, and melted butter. Stir to combine.
  • Fold in the diced apples.
  • Heat the oil in a deep fryer (or use a heavy pot) to 365˚F. Add several spoonfuls of batter to the hot oil. Fry for 2 1/2 - 3 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Drain and then drizzle with the powdered sugar glaze.

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or in the freezer for up to a month.
