Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Add the egg, apple cider, and melted butter. Stir to combine.
Fold in the diced apples.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer (or use a heavy pot) to 365˚F. Add several spoonfuls of batter to the hot oil. Fry for 2 1/2 - 3 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain and then drizzle with the powdered sugar glaze.
