**Update: I recently learned that Ball mason jars are NOT oven safe, so I recommend only serving the potatoes in the jars for a fun presentation.**
Prepare the desired amount of instant mashed potatoes according to the instructions on the package.
Stir shredded cheese, sour cream, bacon and pepper into the mashed potatoes. (The amounts depend on how many mashed potatoes were prepared.)
Continue heating until the cheese is melted and the mixture is hot.
Spoon the mixture into oven safe jars or ramekins and top with more shredded cheese and bacon.
Top with chopped green onions before serving.
