Caramel Pretzel Bites

Caramel Pretzel Bites have a sweet, chewy caramel sandwiched between salty, crunchy pretzels dipped in smooth vanilla almond bark.

Ingredients

  • 24 square pretzels aka snaps
  • 12 caramels find my homemade caramel candy recipe here
  • 12 oz vanilla almond bark six 2 oz cubes
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable shortening
  • 1 tablespoon red sprinkles

Instructions

  • Sandwich the caramels between the pretzels. Soften the caramel slightly in the microwave, if necessary.
  • Put the vanilla almond bark and shortening in a small bowl. Microwave for 60 seconds and then stir well. Continue heating in the microwave in 15 second intervals, stirring after each one, until smooth.
  • Dip the pretzel caramels into the melted almond bark and place on a piece of parchment paper. Top with sprinkles.
  • Allow the almond bark to harden and then store in an airtight container.

  • Recipe works with both store-bought and homemade caramels.
  • Can also be dipped into chocolate almond bark.
