This Caramel Apple Pretzel Salad recipe is a delicious way to enjoy a taste of fall with crunchy apples, candied pretzels, and sweet caramel sauce.

    Caramel Apple Pretzel Salad

When it’s apple season, we enjoy eating as many apples as we can in as many ways as we can. It’s fun to buy different varieties to see which one is our favorite. A visit to an apple orchard offers up the most choices.

This Caramel Apple Pretzel Salad is my own fun spin on the apple snicker’s salad recipe and is the fall version of my Strawberry Pecan Pretzel Salad. Instead of the snickers, I added sugared toffee pretzels!

How To Make Caramel Apple Pretzel Salad

    Pretzel Salad Mixture

Start by making the sugared toffee pretzels for the salad. Put brown sugar, chopped pretzels and chopped pecans in a bowl.

    Melted Butter

Pour in melted butter and mix everything together.

    Caramelized Pretzels

Spread the mixture on a large baking sheet with sides (I used my jelly roll pan). Bake at 400 degrees for 7 minutes.

    Sugared Toffee Pretzels

Allow the mixture to cool and then break it into small pieces.

    diced apples

Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Then, beat in the caramel sauce until smooth.

Fold in the whipped topping. Cut enough apples to make three cups. I used two large apples.

    Candied Pretzels and Pecans

Mix the cooled pretzels into the salad.

Caramel Apple Pretzel Salad in bowls

Scoop into small bowls and top with a drizzle of caramel sauce.

    Caramel Apple Pretzel Salad

This salad is best when eaten right away, so make it the same day you plan to serve it. You can keep the sugared pretzels, cream cheese mixture, and diced apples separate until ready to serve.

I’m going to try this next weekend for a Fall cookout- I’m going to change it up by using gluten free pretzels – Snyder’s brand/ Hoping for good results since gf products seem to get soggier than regular……fingers crossed!

OMG making this ,however I do make a salad using all of the above ,but I use crushed pineapple instead of apples. But I can’t wait to try this. Plus I double or even triple the crunching part and freeze it for later.

Do you think you could prepare the pretzel, pecan, brown sugar, and butter part and put it in a ziplock bag the day before hand?

just wondering if they get soggy at all or if they stay crunchy if you put them in bag alone and not add them to any cream mixture? I want to make this for an office pot luck lunch but don’t want to fully prepare it at home risking it getting soggy or watery overnight in fridge.

Yes, it can be but the sooner you eat it after preparing it the better. The sugared pretzels will start to get soggy and the whipped cream will start to break down the longer it sits. Best of luck! ~Tonia

I LOVE that this caramel apple salad recipe is nut allergy friendly. My son normally misses out on these types of recipes because it’s just not the same eliminating the nuts. I can’t wait to make this one!
