Tea time mason jar

Is it Coffee vs Tea or is it Coffee + Tea? I am most definitely a coffee drinker, but I would like to start drinking more tea, especially now that it is winter. I feel like I know next to nothing about tea and what makes a good tea, so I have some learning to do. In the meantime, I put together a mason jar gift for the tea lovers in your life. Tea time mason jar gifts can be customized with whichever products you want to buy as long as they will fit into the jar! It is so much fun to make and give gifts in a jar.

Tea time mason jar fillers

Gather together items that a tea lover would use. I bought a sample pack of tea, a mini jar of honey, shortbread cookies, a mesh tea infuser and baker’s twine.

add fillers to mason jar

Slowly fit all of the items in a large mason jar. I used a 32 oz wide mouth Kerr mason jar and I spray painted the lid metallic gold.

Tea Time Mason Jar Labels

Then, print a label for the jar. Cut the labels out, punch a hole and tie it on the jar using bakers’s twine. Download the free printable here:

I like for my daughter to do a DIY Christmas gift for the grandparents every year and this is RIGHT ON! Wish I could do this every year!! It’s so simple, thoughtful and functional!

For others to note: I found lots of the items on Amazon but as I continued the search to try making this item cheaper (since we have 4 sets of grandparents…), World Market was actually the best bet!

Found Honey Sticks (instead of the jars, even though they did have the jars), Walkers shortbread cookies and the Revolution Tea Sampler at World Market! All in perfect quantities and sizes for the jars. Only other thing I’m adding is a gift card instead of the tea infuser!

    Yay gifting!

Thank you for such a cool idea!

Love the tea sampler Mason Jars & I would like to make them for my co-workers. May add or replace an item with a small lemon. Not sure where I can find a dozen small honey jars but Hopefully World Market has them along with the teas.

Great idea! World Market still has the honey http://www.worldmarket.com/product/savannah-orange-blossom-honey.do?&from=Search but the tea that I used shows that is it out of stock online. Maybe they will still have it in your store or you can go with another brand. Best of luck! ~Tonia

Absolutely lovely! Are the teas in the sampler loose leaf or bagged?

Hi, I was just wondering where you bought the individually wraped shortbread cookies. Can you tell me what brand they are? Thanks!

How lovely! I have the perfect person in mind for this but I’m not to sure about the supplies. Do you know of any other places (besides World Market) that would have tea samplers like these?

      Hi Noemi,
I’m not sure what other stores sell the Revolution tea samples. You can probably order them online. Otherwise, you can just use any tea that you can find in your local store. Best of luck!

      Hi Shannon,
I bought most the items in the jar at World Market…all but the cookies, which I picked up at the grocery store. Have fun!

I bought three boxes of different speciality teas then tied 3 bags from each box together with a ltttle hand written note saying which tea it was. A very popular gift.

These are awesome. For me it’s coffee in the morning; decaf tea at night. But I think my fav mason jar is the loves to bake – who doesn’t, right?!
