    Chocolate Revel Bars

    These Chocolate Revel Bars have a combination of gooey chocolate with chewy oatmeal. They are easy to make with ingredients you have on hand.

    When you need to make a dessert for a crowd, go for one that you can make in a jelly roll pan, like these chocolate revel bars, with lots of servings!

    Cream together:
    1 1/2 cups softened butter
    1 1/2 cups brown sugar
     
     Then add:
    1 1/2 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    3 cups oatmeal

    Pat 3/4 of the mixture into a jelly roll pan (16x12x1).

    Melt together:
    1/2 cup butter
    12 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
    14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
    Then add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

    Spread chocolate mixture over the oatmeal layer in the jelly roll pan.
     
    top with oatmeal crumble
    Sprinkle with remaining oatmeal mixture.

    Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes and allow to cool before cutting the chocolate revel bars into squares.

    Ingredients

    • 1 ½ cups softened butter
    • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
    • 3 cups rolled oats
    • 1 ½ cups flour
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda

    Filling

    • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
    • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • ½ cup butter
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 350˚F. Cream together 1 ½ cups softened butter and brown sugar.
    • Add the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
    • Pat 3/4 of the mixture into a greased, rimmed jelly roll pan.
    • Melt the sweetened condensed milk, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and ½ cup of butter in the microwave for one minute. Stir and continue heating and stirring in 15-second intervals.
    • Stir in the vanilla.
    • Spread chocolate mixture over the oatmeal layer.
    • Dot with the remaining oatmeal mixture.
    • Bake at 350°F for 22-25 minutes and allow to cool before cutting into squares.
