These Chocolate Revel Bars have a combination of gooey chocolate with chewy oatmeal. They are easy to make with ingredients you have on hand.

When you need to make a dessert for a crowd, go for one that you can make in a jelly roll pan, like these chocolate revel bars, with lots of servings!

Cream together:
1 1/2 cups softened butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
 
 Then add:
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups oatmeal

Pat 3/4 of the mixture into a jelly roll pan (16x12x1).

Melt together:
1/2 cup butter
12 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
Then add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Spread chocolate mixture over the oatmeal layer in the jelly roll pan.
 
top with oatmeal crumble
Sprinkle with remaining oatmeal mixture.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes and allow to cool before cutting the chocolate revel bars into squares.

Chocolate Revel Bars

Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups softened butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 cups oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 12 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream together 1 1/2 cups butter and brown sugar.
  2. Add flour, salt, baking soda and oatmeal. Mix well.
  3. Pat 3/4 of the mixture into a jelly roll pan.
  4. Melt together 1/2 cup butter, chocolate chips and milk.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Spread chocolate mixture over the oatmeal layer.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining oatmeal mixture.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes and allow to cool before cutting into squares.
