Golden Delicious, Red Delicious and Granny Smith are the ones that are most common here in northern Norway. But, sometimes they also sell Pink Lady (my favorite together with Granny Smith), Galia and some Norwegian “local” apples. (“Local”= from the southern parts of Norway. Way too cold up here for any kind of fruit trees at all!)
Back home, in southern Sweden, my parents have lots of different fruit trees though – apples, plums, cherry… Miss that a LOT!

I tried the Bloomin’ Apples with a Norwegian apple, similar in the texture to Golden Delicious. But, I think they “crumble” too easy. I will make them with Granny Smith or Pink Lady next time. More “solid” and not as sweet – think that’ll go much better together with the caramel. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sounds like we have lots of similar apple varieties. I can see why you would miss the fruit trees at your parents! That would be ideal!
