This hearty Pizza Soup is like comfort in a bowl with a creamy tomato base, mini pepperoni, and cheese served with garlic and herb croutons.

Pizza Soup in bowls on table with spoons

My family likes all things pizza, from macaroni and cheese pizza for dinner, tater tot breakfast pizza, pizza balls for an appetizer to mini fruit pizza for dessert. So, making this pizza soup with homemade croutons is a no-brainer!

It’s got all the flavors and ingredients of a traditional pizza in a warm, comforting soup that is hard to resist.

    How To Make

pizza soup ingredients in a large pot

Put a jar of pasta sauce, a jar of pizza sauce, a can of condensed tomato soup, half-n-half, water, grated Parmesan, oregano, minced onion, garlic powder, and black pepper in a large pot.

    stirring pizza soup

Stir the soup to combine. Warm over medium heat until the soup starts to bubble and is hot.

mini pepperoni in pizza soup in pot

Remove from heat. Add the mini pepperoni and any other pizza toppings you want.

shredded cheese on pizza soup in pot

Add shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

pizza soup in a white ladle over pot

Stir until the cheese is melted.

    Croutons

cubed bread with spices in skillet for croutons recipe

Put the cubed bread in a large skillet. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic salt.

garlic and herb croutons in skillet

Cook over medium heat, gently stirring and turning croutons until toasted and crunchy.

pizza soup in bowls with cheese and croutons

Pour the soup into bowls and top with additional shredded cheese and garlic and herb croutons.

This pizza soup was a huge hit with my family! They love pizza, but there is something about the flavors of pizza in a warm, cheesy soup topped with crunchy croutons that really hits the spot.

    Recipe Tips

    • Pasta sauce: Use your favorite kind. My family doesn’t like a chunky sauce, so I use a smooth sauce or blend it up in a food processor to make it smooth. If you have the time to make your own spaghetti sauce, go for it! You need 24 ounces or 3 cups of sauce for this recipe.
    • Pizza Sauce: You can use your favorite store-bought pizza sauce or make homemade pizza sauce. This recipe calls for 15 ounces or about 1 3/4 cups of pizza sauce.
    • Half-n-Half: You can use whole milk instead of half-n-half, but the soup won’t be as creamy.
    • Pepperoni: If you can’t find mini pepperoni, you can cut full-sized ones into smaller pieces. Or skip adding it for a cheese pizza version.
    • Leftovers: Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or in the freezer for 1-2 months.

Thank you for this! I didn’t stick to the recipe, I used what I had on hand instead and used this as a base recipe. I had a 24 oz can of mushroom spaghetti sauce and a 14 oz jar of pizza sauce, which I used instead of the tomato soup. I didn’t have to add any spices due to both sauces already contributing enough. I used parmesan and mozzarella, as well as a Mexican cheese mixture. We also added the following, as it’s what we eat on our homemade pizzas as well: onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and spinach. I didn’t put it in the blender, just chopped the veggies into small bits. It was very tasty! Thank you!
