I made this Rocky Road Cheese Ball Recipe, which is one of those holiday desserts everyone will love, using Hershey’sâ„¢ Spreads as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #SpreadPossibilities #HersheysHeroes
This weekend is the official start of this year’s holiday parties for me. There was one earlier this week that I was invited to but was unable to attend. This weekend we have two to go to. One part of me enjoys the holiday festivities but another part wants to just stay put in my warm, cozy home. Besides getting to see family and friends, one of the joys of holiday parties is the delicious food! There will be everything from the main dinner, to side dishes to more desserts than a person knows what to do with. Today’s recipe is like the traditional cheese ball party appetizer but instead it is a sweet cheese ball recipe for dessert! This chocolate dip using Hershey’sâ„¢ Spreads is fun to bring to parties because it will be different than all of the other desserts!
You’ve probably seen these dessert cheese balls and dips online everywhere from Paula Deen’s Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball to this Turtle Cheeseball from my friend Aimee at Shugary Sweets. When I saw these new Hershey’sâ„¢ Spreads, I knew I had to use them to make a cheese ball. There are three flavors available: chocolate, chocolate with hazelnut and chocolate with almond. All three of them are delicious on their own but I wanted to take them up a notch by adding rocky road toppings. Any of these flavors would work for this cheese ball.
To make the cheese ball, beat one package of softened cream cheese until fluffy. Then, add 1/2 cup of the chocolate spread with hazelnut, brown sugar, powdered sugar and vanilla.
Stir in mini chocolate chips and mini marshmallow bits (I used Jet-Puffed Mallow Bits).
Dump everything into the center of a large piece of plastic wrap. Wrap the plastic around the ingredients and form a ball. Cover with more plastic wrap, if necessary. Place the ball in a small bowl and put into the fridge until it firms up a little.
If you are in a hurry, skip this step and just put the cheese ball mixture into a wide bowl or on a platter making it into more of a dip.
Remove the cheese ball from the fridge, unwrap it and coat it with toasted, chopped walnuts, mini chocolate chips and mini marshmallow bits. Gently press the toppings into the cheese ball.
Again, if you are in a hurry, sprinkle the toasted, chopped walnuts, mini chocolate chips and mini marshmallow bits over the cheese ball ingredients in your bowl or on your platter.
Place the Rocky Road Cheese Ball on a plate or a platter and surround it with shortbread cookies and pretzels.
This Rocky Road Cheese Ball recipe is so easy to make using the Hershey’sâ„¢ Spreads. This dessert is fun to bring to a holiday party because it is different from all of the other Christmas cookies, pies and desserts!
