I can’t believe that September is already halfway over! I was thinking that it was still the beginning of the month when it suddenly dawned on me that it is already the 20th! Sunday is the official start of fall. So, today I’m wishing you a Happy Fall and many more delicious pumpkin desserts before winter arrives!

A couple of days ago, I shared how I went about taking photos of my Pumpkin Nutella Swirl Bars with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting but left you hanging without the recipe!

I didn’t want to make that blog post too long, so I am sharing the recipe today. The starting point of these bars is a basic yet delicious pumpkin bars recipe that my friend made earlier this month. I love pumpkin, but I wanted to add another favorite of mine to the bars…chocolate! So, I added Nutella!

I mixed up the pumpkin bars batter, removed 2 cups of batter, and mixed in 1 cup of Nutella. I spread the plain pumpkin batter into the pan and then added spoonfuls of the Nutella and pumpkin batter. I used a knife to gently swirl the two layers. The bars are deliciously moist, and they were a hit at our family dinner!

I have a quick question, I made your bars but the area where the nutella was shrank…do you think this was because the nutella was too heavy? I just moved into a new home and am running into issues with my new oven….I’m sure the bars will still taste fantastic….

Hi Katie! Did you mix the Nutella with some of the pumpkin batter, drop it by spoonfuls over the batter in the pan and then swirl it through the batter in the pan? I’m guessing you are right and it is heavier than the pumpkin batter so it sinks in those areas. I hope the bars still tasted great! ~Tonia

These look absolutely amazing! It just so happens that pumpkin anything and nutella are my daughter’s two favorite ingredients. I am just about to make an attempt and I can only hope they turn out half as good as yours!

Has anyone used a 13×9 pan instead? I don’t have a jellyroll pan but definitely want to try it!

        Hi Martha,
I have not tried at 9×13 so I am not sure! You could definately try it out but I’m not sure if it is too much batter. Let me know how it goes!

      Thank you Tonia,
This means so much to me as Nutella is the only source of Peanut Butter that my eldest Granddaughter can eat with out having an
      allergic reaction to it.
Of course I don’t know of any one that doesn’t like Pumpkin & Cinnamon.
