Tonia’s Notes
When I was young, my grandmother used to make us ham and cheese croissants. Now I make them for my family along with turkey and cheese croissants. It’s a super simple recipe, so I wanted to share it because I know you’ll love it too!
The secret that makes them so delicious is baking them. Yes, croissants are always delicious, but when you bake these sandwiches for a few minutes, they get lightly browned and more flaky.

How To Make Turkey and Cheese Croissants

Prep Ingredients
Slice the croissants in two and place the bottom half on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Warm the turkey in the microwave and preheat the oven. You have to warm the turkey ahead of time because the sandwiches won’t be in the oven long enough to fully heat the turkey.

Top With Turkey
Put the warm, sliced turkey on the croissant halves. I put it on in a single layer, but you can pile on as much as you want.

Add Sliced Cheese
Top the turkey with slices of cheese. We usually use Swiss or cheddar, but you can use your favorite cheese. Add the top halves of the croissants.

Bake in the Oven
Bake the turkey cheese croissants in the oven at 350˚F for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the croissants are toasted and flaky.

Recipe Tips
- Turkey: If you don’t have sliced turkey and don’t want to cook a whole turkey to get some, you can use store-bought, cooked and sliced turkey breast, sliced deli turkey breast, or even cooked chicken breasts.
- Make Ahead: You can really make these sandwiches ahead of time, but you can do the prep work. Slice the turkey and croissants. Store the turkey in an airtight container in the fridge and the croissants in an airtight container at room temperature.
- Leftovers: Although you can store leftover turkey croissant sandwiches in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days, warming them up again can be a bit of a challenge. So you can either eat them cold or warm them in the microwave, knowing that the turkey may not heat evenly and the croissants might get a little soggy.
