These Pumpkin Pops are an adorable treat for autumn, from Halloween through Thanksgiving, made from Tootsie Pops covered in tissue paper.

Let your kids help make the jack-o-lantern faces and make some ghosts, bats, and green monsters at the same time.

Tonia’s Notes
Yesterday was too warm to feel like autumn. My van showed 98°F at 5:30 yesterday evening! Today’s high is supposed to be only 66°F. What a roller coaster ride in various temperatures!
With the cooler weather comes more fall projects. In past years, we’ve made lollipop ghosts, but this year we put a twist on that classic by making pumpkin pops.
One would think my kids never get candy because they are anxiously awaiting the publishing of this post so they can have one of these pumpkin pops! I am thinking they are too cute to eat yet…should I make them wait or give in?
How To Make

Supplies
I used orange and green tissue paper, pennies, Tootsie pops, and baker’s twine…as well as a Sharpie, which is not pictured here.

Tissue Paper
Cut the green tissue paper into circles that measure 5 1/2 inches across and the orange tissue paper into circles that measure 4 1/2 inches across.

Layers
Layer the items in this order, starting from the bottom: an orange circle of tissue paper, a green circle of tissue paper, a penny, and a lollipop.
The pennies make it possible to stand the pumpkins up. You can make them without the pennies for younger kids and put them into a bowl or lay them out on a tray.

Wrap
Wrap the tissue paper around the lollipop. The orange circle just reaches around the lollipop.

Baker’s Twine
Tie a piece of baker’s twine around the lollipop to hold the tissue in place.

Jack-O-Lantern Face
Using an ultra-fine tip Sharpie, draw jack-o-lantern faces on the pumpkins.

Project Tips
- Lollipops: You can make these treats with other kinds of lollipops, such as Blow Pops, DumDums, or even Caramel Apple Pops. Each type of lollipop will give them a different look. You’ll have to adjust the size of the tissue paper circles to fit the size of the lollipops you choose.
- Pennies: Skip the pennies if you are making this for young kids or passing them out to trick-or-treaters.
- Other Versions: You don’t have to stick to only pumpkins! Try making ghosts, bats, mummies, monsters, and Frankenstein.
