    buffalo pretzel twists

My kids love it when I make seasoned pretzels and I’m always on the lookout for new flavors to make. When my daughter was talking about how much she loves buffalo sauce, I knew I had to try making buffalo pretzels.

Where is the buffalo pretzels recipe? In this post, I will share step-by-step instructions with photos for how to make the pretzels, as well as answering FAQs about the recipe and sharing a short video showing the recipe in motion. But you can go directly to the recipe by scrolling down to the bottom of the post.

Pour the pretzel twists onto a rimmed baking sheet or into a roasting pan.

What kind of pretzel should I use?

You can use whatever kind of pretzels you want for this buffalo pretzels recipe. Just keep the ounces of pretzels to around the same amount as called for in the recipe.

I chose mini pretzel twists this time. They would also be delicious with pretzels sticks, snaps which look like crosshatch squares, or butter spindles.

If you are making the buffalo pretzels for a holiday or special occasion, look for seasonal pretzels in holiday shapes, circles, or footballs.

How do I make buffalo pretzel seasoning?

Mix together melted butter, canola oil, powdered buttermilk ranch dressing mix, and powdered buffalo seasoning.

I was able to find this powdered buffalo ranch seasoning at the grocery store. There are several brands available and the plain buffalo seasoning works too!

If you are unable to find the buffalo seasoning, you can use the spices in a packet of buffalo seasoning meant for making buffalo wings.

    pouring sauce over pretzels

Pour the buffalo sauce over pretzels in the pan and stir to coat.

    baked buffalo pretzels

Do these buffalo pretzels have to be baked?

No, you do not have to bake them. The reason for baking the buffalo pretzels is that it helps the butter and oil absorb faster and they are ready in 30 minutes.

If you have more time and don’t want to use the oven, you can allow the pretzels to absorb the oil and butter for about three hours, stirring every fifteen minutes.
