Crunchy Buffalo Pretzels are a crowd-pleasing snack that is the perfect finger food for parties! Make a double batch because they will disappear in a flash.

    buffalo pretzel twists

My kids love it when I make seasoned pretzels and I’m always on the lookout for new flavors to make. When my daughter was talking about how much she loves buffalo sauce, I knew I had to try making buffalo pretzels.

    pouring pretzel twists onto pan

Step One: Pour the pretzel twists onto a rimmed baking sheet or into a roasting pan.

You can use whatever kind of pretzels you want for this buffalo pretzels recipe. Just keep the ounces of pretzels to around the same amount as called for in the recipe.

I chose mini pretzel twists this time. They would also be delicious with pretzel sticks, snaps which look like crosshatch squares, or butter spindles.

If you are making buffalo pretzels for a holiday or special occasion, look for seasonal pretzels in holiday shapes, circles, or footballs.

sauce ingredients in a glass bowl

Step Two: Mix together melted butter, canola oil, powdered buttermilk ranch dressing mix, and powdered buffalo seasoning.

I found this powdered buffalo ranch seasoning at the grocery store. There are several brands available and the plain buffalo seasoning works too!

If you are unable to find the buffalo seasoning, you can use the spices in a packet of buffalo seasoning meant for making buffalo wings.

    pouring sauce over pretzels

Step Three: Pour the buffalo sauce over pretzels in the pan and stir to coat.

Step Four: Bake at 220˚F for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the butter and oil are absorbed.

If you have more time and don’t want to use the oven, you can allow the pretzels to absorb the oil and butter for about three hours, stirring every fifteen minutes.
