Start the day with fluffy Strawberry Waffles topped with whipped cream and strawberry syrup! Be sure to make extras to freeze for later.

These homemade strawberry waffles are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with lots of diced strawberries! They are easy to make and better than the store-bought frozen ones.

    Tonia’s Notes

It’s hard for me to choose a favorite between waffles, pancakes, and French toast. I enjoy them all for different reasons, and I typically eat them for dinner rather than breakfast!

These strawberry waffles taste like summer, especially with strawberry syrup, whipped cream, and sliced strawberries on top! I love them fresh from the Belgian waffle maker, but I also like it when I can grab one from the freezer and pop it in the toaster to enjoy whenever the craving hits.

    How To Make

    Step one button.

    Combine Dry Ingredients

Combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.

    Step two button.

    Add Wet Ingredients

Whisk in the buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.

    Whisk in wet ingredients.
    Step three button.

    Fold In Strawberries

Add the diced strawberries and fold them in the batter.

    Fold in the diced strawberries.
    Step four button.

    Cook In Waffle Iron

Preheat the waffle maker. Once it is hot, grease it, pour batter onto it (my waffle maker uses 3/4 cup of batter), and spread it out evenly. Cook for 4-5 minutes (depending on your waffle iron) or until it stops steaming and the waffles are fully cooked.

    Cooked to golden brown.

    Storage Tips

    • Make Ahead: You can make strawberry waffles ahead of time and store them to be reheated whenever you want to eat them!
    • Refrigerator: Store the cooled waffles in an airtight container or storage bag with parchment paper between layers in the fridge for 2-3 days.
    • Freezer: Store them in the freezer for 1-2 months.
    • Reheat: Our favorite way to reheat them is in the toaster! If they are too big for your toaster, you can turn them halfway through toasting. You can also warm them up in the waffle maker, an air fryer, or the toaster oven.
