I’ve always been a huge fan of chocolate-dipped cones from DQ. We have a funny story about Brian going to buy me one in the middle of a summer heatwave in a car without air conditioning because I was having a pregnancy craving! It was a huge mess, but a very loving gesture.
I made this white chocolate shell recipe as a topping for my churro ice cream tacos. We love that it only takes a couple of minutes to prepare and is delicious on many flavors of ice cream.

How To Make Magic White Chocolate Shell Topping

Ingredients
Put the white chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl.


Melt and Stir
Melt the mixture in the microwave for 60 seconds and stir. Return to the microwave for 15-second intervals, stirring well after each time until the white chocolate topping is smooth.


Mason Jar
Pour the white chocolate shell into a mason jar for storage.


Drizzle or Dip
Spoon the vanilla chocolate shell and drizzle over a scoop of ice cream in a bowl. Or dip treats such as ice cream cones or ice cream tacos into the magic shell.


Recipe Tips
- Thickness: You can adjust the thickness of this ice cream shell by adding more or less of the ingredients. If it is too thick, add more coconut oil, and if it is too thin, add more white chocolate chips.
- Make Ahead: Since this recipe is so easy to make, you don’t necessarily have to make it ahead of time. However, if you’re making it for an ice cream social or party, you can definitely prepare it ahead of time.
- Refrigerator: Store it in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.
