This easy Cottage Cheese Breadsticks recipe tastes like the restaurant classic! Enjoy as an appetizer or side with pizza and pasta.

These Parmesan Breadsticks are made without yeast, and they have cottage cheese in the dough for some extra protein! This is a recipe you’ll want to make on repeat.

Tonia’s Notes
Back in the 90’s, Pizza Hut was one of the places my friends and I would eat at all the time. We always ordered deep-dish pepperoni pizza and breadsticks. Here is a picture of two of my friends eating breadsticks at Pizza Hut when we were teenagers.
I have a recipe for two-ingredient dough breadsticks, so for this recipe, I wanted to make a copycat version of those famous restaurant ones. The Parmesan topping is what really makes the difference, and now these breadsticks are part of our pizza nights!

How To Make Copycat Pizza Hut Breadsticks With Cottage Cheese Dough

Dough
Stir the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and kosher salt to combine. Add the blended cottage cheese and stir until a rough dough forms. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and form a ball. Cover with plastic wrap and rest the dough for 15 minutes.

Parmesan Topping
While the dough is resting, prepare the Parmesan topping by combining grated Parmesan and Romano blend cheese, garlic powder, kosher salt, dried oregano, and dried basil.

Breadstick Butter
Prepare the breadstick butter by combining melted butter, vegetable oil, and garlic powder. Spread 4 tablespoons of the mixture in a metal 9×13″ pan. Flatten the dough, roll it out into a rectangle, transfer it to the pan, and spread it out to fill the pan. Brush the dough with 1 tablespoon of the breadstick butter.

Bake and Cut
Bake at 450˚F for 10-14 minutes. Remove from the oven, brush with the remaining breadstick butter, sprinkle with the prepared breadstick seasoning, and cut into sticks. Sometimes I cut them into 14 long breadsticks, like in the photo directly below, and other times I cut them into 16 wider breadsticks, like in the photo at the bottom of the post.

Recipe Tips
- Plan Ahead: You can make the dough ahead of time, cover it, and store it in the fridge until you are ready to prepare the breadsticks.
- Leftovers: Store leftover breadsticks in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days. Freeze leftover breadsticks in an airtight, freezer-safe container for up to a month.
- Reheat: You can reheat the cottage cheese breadsticks in the microwave, the oven, or an air fryer.
