These Copycat Applebee’s Pizza Sticks were our favorite appetizer and Applebee’s removed them from the menu. They’re perfect for parties, snacks, or dinner!

Applebee’s used to have a pizza sticks appetizer and when I was dating my husband, we love ordering them. Unfortunately, it is no longer on their menu so we usually order mozzarella sticks but I came up with a simple copycat recipe for the pizza sticks so we can enjoy them at home!

After school snacks were always a big deal when I was a kid and I wish I were as good as my mom about making them for my kids. They usually end up grabbing something premade and prepackaged but every once in a while I make them something homemade and they really appreciate it.

frozen bread dough
Thaw and raise a loaf of frozen bread dough.

breadsticks dough
Grease a jelly roll pan very well.  This will not only keep the sticks for sticking but will help the bottoms get nice and crispy.  Then, spread the dough out in the pan and cut the into sticks.

pizza toppings on breadsticks dough
Brush the top of the sticks with melted butter and top with pepperoni, shredded cheese, garlic and Italian seasoning.

baked pizza sticks
Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Cut the pizza sticks again, if needed, and serve with pizza sauce. These copycat Applebee’s pizza sticks would make a great after school snack or an appetizer!!  Have you ever made something you enjoyed that was removed from a restaurant’s menu?

Hi Darlene, I didn’t know Applebees made pretzel sticks. I will have to try them the next time I go there! The closest recipe I have is for Auntie Anne’s soft pretzel nuggets https://www.thegunnysack.com/2012/08/auntie-annes-inspired-soft-pretzel.html

These are a “must try” for our family! As far as making something that was removed from the menu I don’t think I have but I do love to make restaurant food recipes. Especially the sausage soup from Olive Garden – yum!!
