Sweet and spicy melon cubes only take a few minutes to make, and the flavor is fantastic! This simple summer recipe, with bite-sized pieces of watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew, is perfect for sharing.

    Tonia’s Notes

We look forward to sweet summer fruit all year long! Besides enjoying it fresh, you can use it to make salsa, salad, and dessert.

One of the ways we love eating melon is with Tajin sprinkled on top. This summer, we’ve been adding a drizzle of hot honey and toasted coconut flakes, and it is so good that I had to share the recipe!

How To Make Tropical Melon Cubes

    Step one button.

    Melon Cubes

Cut the watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew in quarters and then cut the fruit into cubes. Store them in the fridge until ready to use.

    Step two button.

    Toppings

Arrange the melon pieces on a plate or platter. Sprinkle them with Tajin chili lime seasoning, drizzle with honey (we use hot honey, but you can use regular honey if you prefer), and top with toasted coconut.

    Drizzle with honey.
    Step three button.

    Serving Suggestion

Add some bamboo appetizer forks so that the pieces are easy to grab. Put additional forks in a container next to the platter. Another idea is to put the melon cubes in cups or bowls and allow everyone to add the toppings they want.

    Recipe Tips

    • Make Ahead: You can cut the melon into cubes ahead of time, but wait until serving time to add the toppings.
    • Shapes: You don’t have to stick to cubes for the shapes. You can make melon bites in any shape you want. See my post about how to cut a watermelon for more ideas.
    • Storage: Store leftover tropical melon cubes in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
