Making barbecue pork chops in a crockpot results in fork-tender meat with very little effort! Put everything in your slow cooker in the morning, and it will be ready by dinner time.

    Tonia’s Notes

I’ve had my popular slow cooker barbecue ribs recipe on the blog since September 2014! We also make a variation of that recipe with pork chops, and I thought I should share it with you.

We love these BBQ pork chops with corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and melon cubes. Sometimes we shred it and use it for pulled pork sandwiches as well! In the summer, it’s the perfect meal to make when you don’t want to turn on the oven, and it’s also great for camping if you have a way to plug in your crockpot. And in the winter, it’s just the thing for a cozy family meal.

How To Make Crock Pot Barbecue Pork Chops

    Step one button.

    Sauce

You only need two ingredients for the sauce: barbecue sauce and Dr. Pepper. We use Sweet Baby Ray’s and Dr. Pepper (or the sugar-free versions of each). But you can use your favorite brand of barbecue sauce, and for the soda pop, you can also use Coca-Cola

    Stirring sauce with a whisk.
    Step two button.

    Seasoning

We typically use boneless pork chops, but bone-in chops work as well. Season both sides beforehand for extra flavor. I used paprika, coarse-ground black pepper, kosher salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.

    Add seasonings to meat.
    Step three button.

    Slow Cooker

Spread half of the barbecue sauce mixture (about 3/4 cup) in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the seasoned pork chops and cover with the remaining sauce.

    Step four button.

    Cook

Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours, or until the pork chops are tender. Garnish with fresh parsley.

    Recipe Tips

    • Make Ahead: If you want to prep this recipe ahead of time, you can season the pork chops and store them in the fridge overnight. You can also make the sauce and store it in the refrigerator as well.
    • Leftovers: Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or in the freezer for 1-2 months.
    • Reheat: Thaw frozen leftovers in the fridge overnight. Reheat in the microwave.

Hi! The recipe calls for 2.25 ounces of pork chops. Should that be 2.25 lbs? Thanks!
