This garlic cheese spread goes perfectly with warm, crusty baguettes.
Are you a bread fan like me? There are times when I want just bread for a meal. Not just any bread but warm out of the oven bread! For dinner last night, I made one of my family’s favorite meals: a ham dinner. When I make this meal, I always try to have bread with it too. Last night, I made a garlic cheese spread to go with some warm, crusty baguettes.
To make the spread, I used butter, whipped cream cheese, shredded Italian cheese, pizza seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder.
First, I whipped the softened butter. I read a tip recently for softening butter, place 1 stick of butter, in its wrapper, in the microwave for 20 seconds, turning the stick every 5 seconds. So in other words, 5 seconds for each side. It will be nice and soft all around but not melted!
After whipping the butter briefly, I added the whipped cream cheese and mixed them together.
Next, I added the shredded cheese and spices.
Mix until it is well blended.
I put the spread into a bowl, covered it with plastic wrap and placed it in the fridge. If the spread is left in the fridge overnight it will be much more flavorful!
Just bake the baguettes in the oven at 375ยฐ F for 8-10 minutes. After the bread cooled for a bit, I cut it into slices.
Here is our delicious dinner, which my husband ended up missing completely because he had to stay very late at work…poor guy! But the rest of us enjoyed it and he will get the leftovers!
